Sandy

Well, I met you at the meeting of the ocean and the land
When I waved hello, you crumbled down from boulders into sand
And you either filled the boxes of my one true love's design
Or maybe I'm used to pebbles, either way you seemed so fine

But all I heard was

She's not the one, the best that you can get
She's really something but she's really something else you don't know yet
She's not the one who'll make it all ok
You will just be left to wash the sand away

Now she's infiltrating places I didn't know she could reach
She's in my hair and in my pockets and even the food I eat
But I feel fine, there's no reason for me to stop this ride
But there's one thing I've forgotten and that something's called the tide

And it turns out

She's not the one, the best that you can get
She's really something but she's really something else you don't know yet
She's not the one who'll make it all ok
You will just be left to wash the sand away

I never knew she'd go against the grain
And change her colours in a way that I still can't explain
We went together like ram-a-lam-a-ka-ding-a-dong
Wo-oah, how could it possibly go wrong?

Well,

She's not the one, the best that I can get
'Cause we had something, now that something is something that I regret
She's not Sandy, she's really made of clay
And now I'm left to wash the sand away
