Rock & Robots: The Deal
Information for prospective and booked artists
Updated 10/9/2025
For a gig to succeed, the artists and the promoter each bring different things to the table and need to work together. The lists below detail what the organisers of Rock & Robots can offer to acts we book and what they should provide the organisers with in return.
If you're happy with the terms of the deal below, you can apply to play at a Rock & Robots night using the form linked at the bottom of the page (or keep talking with me if I sent you here).
You can also use this as a checklist to make effective preparations for the gig
.

What we would like from booked acts
In the lead-up to the gig:

-
People who buy tickets to see the night (aim for at least 10)
-
Preferably, acts will not have and will not book any other gigs at venues with postcodes beginning E#, EC#, N#, NW# or WC# for the 4 days preceding and 4 days following the night of the Rock & Robots gig
-
i.e. if Rock & Robots is on Sunday 10th, it should be your only gig in this area between Tuesday 6th and Thursday 14th. This is to reduce the chances of potential attendees thinking “I’ll skip this gig and see them nearby in a few days”.
-
-
Regular sharing of social content and own self promotion of the night
-
Acceptance of the collaboration Instagram posts with @tolerablemusic (pre-show poster and post-show group photo)
-
Materials we need to promote you and the night:
-
A bio, pictures, performance video/music video file to be edited into Tolerable Music's promotional video, website/social links, plus anything for us to promote
-
Clip for @tolerablemusic social accounts with the prompt: "3 reasons to come to Rock & Robots"
-
An image, video or presentation to be projected on the back wall during the set
-
Any audio files needed for the set
-
Please send over to tolerablemusic@gmail.com as soon as gig is confirmed
-

On gig night:

-
Attendance at and completion of a sound check (between 17:00 and 17:50 on gig day)
-
Bring your own breakables (optional but preferred - you can use the house snare, I only recently learned that was a breakable)
-
A well-rehearsed and professional 30 minute performance of mostly original songs (limit of 2 covers per set but this can be negotiated)
